HELP I'm running out of time before a lengthy journey. Ihave followed the How to install (camera database)POIs to Tom Tom Naigator 5 guide ,downloaded the database - also PoiEdit done everything in the correct order and reach the point of the Update Status window that stops loading on the pocketgps-contenental.................then "Could not create remote file.................. " I then read the guide instruction about downgrading ActiveSync to v 3.7 or below (I'm running v3.7.1 and can only assume that this is the problem ) .How do I downgrade ActiveSync? Any advice would be great toPOInt me in the right direction |

I'm using 3.8.0 build 5004 available from the Microsoft site. No problems with it on Windows XP Pro. _________________ Graham.

if you're stuck you can just cut and paste the .ov and .bmp files to your map folder, assuming it's on flash media and you've got a card reader. |

I have the same AS with XP Pro and it also failed to Sync the poi files.
I also assumed that it was the version stopping it.
I do not really want to downgrade AS so any suggestions would be welcome.
Cheers

I too had "upgraded" to 3.8 with subsequent sync/download problems. At the time - some weeks ago, I simply went to the Microsoft website and downloaded and re-installed 3.7. During installation I was asked whether I wanted to overwrite a newer version with an older version but otherwise no problem. I cannot remember the details now but 3.8 seemed to offer little over 3.7 hence it was a simple decision to 'downgrade'. Is " Horses for Courses" appropriate? In my case POISync took priority. |
