I had this problem with TT4 and now in TT5.1.
Does anybody else have this problem? As a test I tried to navigate to "address" for several family member's home/work address and when I start entering in the street name, it does not show in the list and I'm forced to browse the map to the street and do a navigate there.
Obviously this is very annoying. This does not seem to be a map error as I can find the street on the browse map. It's a problem between the linking of the search to the address db.
I sent a question to support but I was wondering if some one else had this issue and if there was a way to fix it.
Thanks
P.S. I'm in Toronto, Canada. The addresses I'm trying range from new to over 30 years old. |

I have found that TT does not always have a street linked to the most obvious town/city/suburb. Trying the name of another nearby town, city, or some other sort of administrative region, will often succeed in letting TT find the street I want it to find. _________________ Kam |

I have had a similar problem with ttn5, but I had navigated to that address before. Soft reset fixed it. |

to the South and the edge of the city to the West is about 10Kms, to the North a good 20Kms and to the East well over 30Kms. It should definitely be Toronto. Goes off and tries using the sub division ......low and behold it found it in the City of Etobicoke.
So every time I want to navigate to a street in Toronto I have to either ask for a postal code or try 5 different cities. Not good. Not good.
Its time to try another address which is in the suburbs in Thorn Hill. Let me guess it will be under Toronto.
I feel sorry for tourists coming to Toronto with their TT5 with no knowledge of the five sub cities! This should be changed.
Thanks for nudging me in the right direction. |
