Hey. After careful thinking I just bought the Acer N35 complete with D3.
It will arrive on wednesday morning, but I have been doing even more research on it and have all the files needed for the "POI"/Speed Trap warning.
I am pretty set on getting the POI's onto the Palmtop, but info is a bit sketchy on getting audio warnings.
Can I have a pretty idiotproof guide to this.
Also, is it possible to add distance warnings. EG.
"Warning: Approaching GATSO, 1/2 mile"
...
"Warning: GATSO nearby"
The Avensis has GPS built in and it has a good countdown to turns etc ("Left turn in.... Turn left now...")
I wonder if it's possible to acheive the same on N35 with speed traps
Cheers,

Hi Mikey,
I have recently got myself an Acer N35 with D3, and have got the speed camera database loaded on.
I would be interested to hear from someone who has got their set up just how they like, so I can try the same settings.
I compiled the .csv's into .dat files, and saved them as Auto Alert 1 and Auto Alert 2. This seems to work, but I can't get the warning intervals to work effeciently, and sometime only Alert 2 works - not alert 1.
If you have your's set up just right, please describe the process here - it would be a great help.
Cheers ... Hollim |

Hollim,
I've set up my system as follows.
Auto alert 1 is for all speed cameras with warnings at 600 & 400yds
Auto Alert 2 is for traffic light cameras with warnings at 400 & 100yds
to set-up the distances click
Destinate - Favorites - (with Auto Alert 1 or 2 highlighted) click
tools - edit and alter distances.
Voive & visual commands work everytime.
If you have any problems let me know and we can discuss.
Regards
Mikey |
