Installed TomTom Navigator 5 on the HP hx4700 ipaq but the favourites and home locations are lost everytime I come out of TomTom.

Suggestions were made in the forums that the upgrade to Navigator v5.10 would fix all the problems.

Followed the advice and installed the upgrade. When I run TomTom the software says it has stored the information for the home address and the favourites etc but as before when I leave and then re-enter TomTom the information is lost and the Icons are once again greyed out.

Any help would be very much appreciated to resolve this problem

Hi rodger1331,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

I guess that you used a new installation from the SD card, as opposed to an installation from a CD. If this is the case then you need to ensure that:

1. The write-protect switch on your storage card is set to write, and not read only.

2. The Great_Britain-Map.cfg file on your storage card does not have a read-only attribute.

In addition, you may want to create a POI for your favourites, as this is more secure if your PDA ever has a problem.

Do you use Sprite Backup? If you don’t then download the latest copy and register it for only a few US Dollars. You can use Sprite Backup, which is much better than the HP backup software, to create executable restores that are kept on your storage card. Very useful if you need to restore and you’re nowhere near your PC.

Are you using the original SD card that TTNav 5 came on?
If so have you backed it up? If you haven’t then do so now!!!!!
Better still get a larger storage card and copy the contents to the new card and use that – keep the original in a very safe place.

Regards,

Also, keep the registration card in the same safe place!
