Another noob question! I am looking for advice on which PDA sat nav solution most would consider ideal.

I am currently drawn to Palm T3 as can get off ebay for approx. £100 so iguess add a BT receiver for £30-40. So I guess that then leaves software? Would be interested in trying out a few different types although the TOMTOM 5 Navigator stuff looks handy (guess i'll need to by from somewhere other than ebay though Wink )

Would others agree the T3 is a reasonable PDA (messed around with my boss's and liked alot)

Or should I be looking for something abit newer? Like an IPAQ? if so which one?

There is so much choice out there Laughing I see lots of you are using IPAQ's so I guess they must be pretty good?

The other option is new mobile with TT mobile 5 but again no idea which handset to use Crying or Very sad

All opinions greatfully received.

Must admit the more I am reading the more I am leaning towards a smartphone (really like the Nokia N70). Seems like I could nail a whole bunch of things at once (decent phone, gps etc.)

Hi big_mike,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

Personally, I prefer separate units for cameras, phones and SatNav. The TomTom Go 300 or 500 is a very good unit. However if you want a PDA, I’d go for a Pocket PC (PPC) rather than a Palm for the simple reason that there’s more software for the PPC machines.

If you decide to go for the PPC type of PDA then iPAQ is a good choice. Are you buying new or used? If you’re buying used then the 2210 is a good PPC. If you’re buying new then go for a mid-range or better iPAQ.

TomTom Navigator 5 for PPC is good, and it’s easy to install our PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a PPC running that software.

Regards,
