Hi all,
Have just upgraded to TTN5 on my Mio 168 and quite like the landscape option.
Does anyone know if the mio 168 will pick up satelites OK with the unit laid on it's side or would it have to but used in the upright position.
many thanks
Dave. |

Afetr posting above and reading some other threads I realised that the mio came with an additional external antenna, so theres one option :D |

Hi dave. Been using my Mio 168 in landscape since June with no probs keeping a fix. Full quota of satellites most of the time. I really like this option, though I was hesitant to make the change at first!
In built up areas, when starting up, I sometimes 'help it along', by holding it in portrait until it finds its fix. |

Hi Lamplight,
Many thanks for the reply. I think I will try it this way and see how I get on.
Thanks again

Hi,
I have a Mio, I find that it is perfectly OK on its side in my old Volvo, good fix etc. However in my Peugeot 306 it is not so good, slow to get a fix, and often "behind the action" when travelling along, and sometimes shows us to be in a field off to one side. It used to be OK in the 306 when upright. Using the external aerial it is again excellent.
I assume that the 306 has some sort of coated windscreen that impairs but does not block reception? _________________ Leigh

May sound daft but how do you change to landscape view?
Thanks |
