hi i have had my 510 for a few months now getting on ok but i am no expert, the problem i seem to have is when i want to make my own route, with the help of a map i inputed places on route which made the route i wanted this seemed to work ok but it calculates a route right into the centre of town etc when you only want to go round it?,so i have been trying to use the intersection option which has been a complete failure,i find a main junction where my route changes ie A120/A12 i enterA120 then it will search for a intersecting road it might come up with named roads which i cant relate to so then i press next page and try and enter second road it says it dosnt exist.i have tryed all combinations and dont seem to get any road numbered intersections, what am i doing wrong?anyhelp please paul |

If you use the Trip Planner, select a point, two hundred yards or so, along the turning that you want to make. This would force the navigation to make the turn, and it wouldn't matter what the intersection was called.
If you did set a point at an intersection, you wouldn't know which way it might take to get to the next point. Intersections are good for Navigate To, but not for Go Via.
The messy way would be to put in an 'avoid area'. OK until you wanted to go there! _________________ Richard

You can add locations as Favorites and use them in Trip Planner. Read Page 16 and 25 of the manual for more in detail.
I haven't got a 510 to hand at the moment, and memory is not what it was. _________________ Richard
