Happy to second that, it is proving to be a very sensitive receiver, the best I have yet tested. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I just bought one of these couple days back, as an upgrade from my old Mapfactor mouse-gps (which always seemed to zigzag along road!)
And i am so far very impressed with the 236, and even used it fine in the car whilst still in my waist pocket when driving :P |

Take the battery out, wait 24hrs, re-insert and charge. If that fails then give Holux UK a call. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Am i born unlucky or am i missing something with these Holux units??
Firstly the reset never worked (48hrs and no joy)
So, i returned to GPSW and had a replacement given to me today.
So far (only had for about 12hrs now) it is working ok from the car charger cable BUT no green light at all, and after about 4 hours left in car charging still no green light and will not power on at all without charger cable, so again seem to have another problem, albeit a workign unit on cable, but not charging or from battery.
Or am i missing something here?
Really appriecate your advice, as sure you can see i am starting to lose faith in the product with a 2nd one not acting normally (thus far?)
I am led to believe GPSW import units from Taiwan Holux.
Would really appriecate some advice / feedback here before i move to a different product. _________________ The Professor |

Call Holux UK, they're very helpful and should be able to identify the issue. Perhaps the initial problems was a duff battery and GPSW swapped this into the replacement or perhaps their is a bad batch.

Professor,
I have already PM'd you to find out the serial number of the 236 which you bought from GPSW.
Please let me know, as some earlier serial numbers have the older firmware installed and this could be the issue.
Holux UK only stock 236's with Firmware version 3.1.1.(serial numbers 524**+) and our offical dealers only stock these.
Our Authorised Dealers can be found here; http://www.holux.co.uk/buy.shtml , where all our dealers will have the latest version in stock.
I am sorry to hear you hare having these issues, as it is most unusual.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards, _________________ Nanette

Prof,
Taking the battery out and leaving it for a while should sort it.
As I said, if problems persist, we are always keen to know about them so that this can be reported to Holux Taiwan. |
