|
|
I have a Medion 95900 (Navigon compatible) and all works fine - except..
I am trying to get more than one country on the MMC card but the system will only find one country at a time
- the card has more than enough space
- have tried soft and hard resets
Only solution I can find right now is to have a separate MMC card for each country so that when I go over a border I have swap cards, do a soft reset and I can proceed.
However this is obviously not optimal as I cannot navigate cross border and the incovenience and expense of the extra cards
Any ideas anyone?

Did you ever conclude this? It seems like it should have been thought about by Medion, so if you got a fix I (and others) would like to hear about it! |

On my Navigon FAQ they explicitly rule out cross border navigation. The best you can do is to navigate to the edge of the map and then change maps. In my PDA I could change maps within the software.
Now I am guessing but there are two possibilities.
With the original TCM software I had there was a possibility to create a route and set it to cover a given width, say 50 miles either side of track, and then save this smaller map file to the PDA MMC. This would cope with a European size map that was both too big for the MMC or would take too long to load and search.
The other possibility may be to get a 'high level' pan European map that will give you the fast motorway transits and then switch to a large scale map for the gravy strokes. Again I don't know if that exists. |

I've run into exactly the same problem, different symptoms.
I can load 6 map folders on to a 1G card.
The software only shows me the first 3 in alphabetic order.
If I choose any one in the Select Map option, it tells me I have to restart.
So I restart the app, select a map.
Tells me I have to restart.
Lather, rinse, repeat
So I am reduced to using one SD memory card for each country.
