Hi Everyone,
Seeing that I am "virgin" to the world of hand held pc's, GPS etc.I have managed to unlock my mio 269 after following the help on this site---much appreciated help, I might add.Can anyone tell me which windows based programmes word, excel etc. I can download (and how to,I can't active sync) or where I can view a list/website.
Any help Thx. |

Have you tried the latest version of Active Synch v3.8?
There are thousands of windows programs to download off various sites, what are you wanting to do with your PDA? |

Hi, Thanks for the response,I have active sync 3.7.1. I want to try and use it for work instead of carrying my laptop. If i can get word, excel and possibly acrobat reader that would be great. I realise now that I should probably have gone for the Mio 168, however I've got this and I like the GPS side of it and have had no problems.
Any help advice is much appreciated.
Thx. |

You need some software for the mio to successfully sync. Not all of your aspirations will be achieved, remember that the Mio runs Windows CE 4.2 not the fuller Pocket PC operating system so it is lacking in a number of areas ( no built in soft keyboard, inability to run Excel, Word etc) but some software does work, much of it needs to be compliant with the screen orientation etc eg Beta Player for video playback, . A good place for you to start would be at mioskins - type this word in to google and use the 'translate this page' option. Here you will find lots of information and tutorials for activesync, and other things such as speed camera warning tutorials.
