Runs perfectly most of the time, navigating is quick and the screen updates are very smooth. I'm very impressed with the sensitivity of the TomTom GPS. There are issues with the design of the software but these are common to all TomTom5 versions.

I have discovered some problems however. When you are just navigating then it's fine. However I received a call and pressed the red phone button to go back to the main menu, and took the call no problem, after the call the screen switched back to TomTom and carried on. However I then realised the sound had partially stopped working. When voice commands came about it would start then cut off after a fraction of a second. Restarting TomTom fixed the problem.

On another trip I received a text message while navigating and was able to read it, reply and return to TomTom (while parked up of course!), but then another text came through which I read and then returned to TomTom for a second time, and the phone immediately crashed with a white screen. It then attempted to reboot the phone but it only partially came back with the screen just white apart from the battery and signal strength indicators. I couldn't get the phone to do anything until I removed the battery to force a reset.

So TomTom works well with the 3230 but it looks like it takes up a LOT of CPU resources which basically means other applications aren't able to run properly.

The only work around I can think of is when you want to use the phone you must exit TomTom (code: 665) and then restart it when you are finished.

Having said that I'm still very happy with it Smile

I notice TomTom.com now have the 3230 listed as a compatible handset.

I've just came back from a 500mile trip on various roads and TomTom behaved flawlessly for the whole time Smile.
