TT5.1 and Microdrive don't work !!!

As I am a regular traveller throughout Europe, I decided to invest in a Hitachi 6GB Microdrive for my ipaq 2210 and attempt to install most of the detailed maps to it.

After much frustration with just the GB maps and various installation methods, it doesn’t want to work. You start Tomtom and it sits for a bit, comes up with the agreement screen and then says “No maps found!”.

Well even I can tell it they ARE there. You can access them in every other way; look inside the directory Great_Britain_Plus_map. Everything else works and I’ve even installed TT to the microdrive.

There is a question in at Tomtom at the moment but I won’t hold my breath they will probably tell mw it has nothing to do with them.

With TT3 you could hack the reg to tell it where the maps are. Is there a way to do this in TT5?

Oh well. Back to 4 SD cards for the moment.

Hi

I have a Kingston 5GB PCMCIA hard drive which i used with my IPAQ. I have had no problem with this seeing all the maps, the only problem I have had is with performance. The calculations with reroute have been and issues. But basically it should work. Just to let you know I’m now down grading to a 2GB CF card.
