Hi all,

For the last year I have successfully been using a Ipaq 2210 coupled with a Fortuna Clip-On GPS Bluetooth unit alongwith Prymenav navigational software that was bundled with it. I have just got hold of tom Tom 5 but cannot seem to get it to recognise the GPS signal at all no matter how I configure it. I have seen commercial sites stating that Fortuna clip-ons are compatible with TT 5 so any ideas anyone ?

Many thanks

try connecting to the gps in the bt manager before starting tt5
then if using 5.1 update use other gps then select com 8 or use other wired gps then set the baud rate usually 38400 but try playing give it ten or so seconds the you should see the disc in top right hdand corner start spinning this indicats you have a conbection to tt5

Thanks, your answer inspired me to have a root around. Amazingly it needs "Other cable NMEA GPS" to be selected even though I'm using a bluetooth device-weird or what ! And like you suggested a 38400 baud did the job.

Thanks again

Navigator 5, when 'Other Bluetooth GPS' is selected, configures the baud rate automatically. if this is not correct you have problems. Setting to 'Other cable NMEA GPS' allows you to manually select the baud rate.
