Hi
Thinking of replace my old sat nav system with a TomTom Go. Could you tell me if it works with orange phones ( SPV C500 ) for Bluetooth/extra services etc.
Also how does it compare to pocket co pilot ver 4 on a IPAQ as a system?
Thanks for the help.
Colin
PS I'm going to the USA 2moro , you a USA version work here with the correct maps? |

Hi,
I have the TTG 700, and it works fine with my C500.... Bluetooth paired them up first time around and the whole setup was hassle free. However, it is only compatible with the basic features, such as Hands-Free and the Plus services. Unfortunately it does not seem to be able to import contacts, which is a real shame as this is basically the reason I have an SPV.... the ability to have everything that Outlook has in my phone! I also very much like the idea of being able to SMS from the TTG.... but again, this doesn't work with the C500.
To be fair there are only a few phones compatible with all these features... and I'm not likely to change phones just to gain this functionality.
Hope this helps. |

I have a Go 500 and a C500, it doesn't import contacts, but look here to find out how to add numbers. You'll only need a few realistically.

I have been quite happy using my C500 as well. There have been a couple of times when the C500 and the 700 have refused to connect correctly. This has been solved by simply switching off the C500 and switching it back on again. I think this is a "feature" of the C500 as it has happened with other BT software.
Incidently my original C500 needed to go back for repair so I used an old Sony Ericsson T610 and that managed to download all my contacts to the GO. :D _________________ Mike Barrett |
