My Mitac Mio 168 has developed a fault with the base connector and will not connect to the PC and is unrecognised by ActiveSync. Also, connecting to the power supply through this connector is erratic and sensitive to any movement of the inserted "plug".

As I get the same problem using both the cradle and various connectors, I assume the unit is damaged.

However, connecting via the Sandisk WiFi card is fine, but is now my only means of connecting to the PC and outside world.

I've had the Mio less than a year so I don't know whether it's covered under warranty, or whether I need to find somewhere it can can be repaired. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

If its less than a year old take it back under warranty, dont play around with it otherwise they will say you broke it.

I too am having this problem and my unit is only just over one week old! Needless to say it will be returned for a new unit.

I rang Global Positioning Systems from whom I bought it last October and they told me I had to do it by email via their website.

So, email duly despatched....let's see what happens.

Full credit to Global Positioning Systems for returning my repaired Mitac Mio today complete with new motherboard and new battery.

I'm impressed at how hassle-free the procedure was...all communication was by email rather than phone, but they responded very promptly to my questions and kept me updated.

Nice people to do business with!!
