Hi

I have a TomTom Go 500. I am interested in downloading the John Cleese voice from the TomTom website but don't have the GPRS facility set up (not even sure if my phone would work?).

Can I download it to my PC and then transfer the file this way instead? That would be straight forward for me.

Thanks for any advice.

I downloaded from the site and installed it from my computer. Worked just fine for me.

I tried this via GPRS on a Go700 and it asked me for confirmation that I was prepared to pay, asked me for my password and then told me that it could only be downloaded directly from the website currently so you are not missing anything!

Have downloaded and installed John on my TTG 300 works just fine, I am still a bit off by the price (double the price of all other voices) but I just had to have it.

I do have one thing that is a touch anoying, when destination is reached John keeps repeating himself over and over until the route is cleared or unit is switched off, has anyone else had this happen to them.

Have you put all three files in the voice folder, that is of course if you are using TTG 300, not sure about other models

I will stick to the standard Jane voice as I bought the John Cleese voice and turned it off after 10 miles as I could not stand the repition of comments. Funny at firts but bloody annoying after hearing it for the 100th time.

I must admit John does get on your nerves after a while. Have you tried Sexy Sylvia or Yoda & Darth.

I have downloaded Yoda & Darth but again think these will get annoying after awhile, good voices tho.

Sexy Sylvia don't do it for me.

I think the voices are just a gimmik really and after a while people will tire of them and revert to a more normal voice.

I would love to have Michael Gambon as a voice with no silly comments as he has a very easy to listen to voice.
