i dont think tomtom 5 is fully support on your PDA with that sleeve, i found that the sleeve based GPS did take longer to get a fix. Do you pick up any sats at all?
What com ports do you have selected? _________________ Regards

hi! thanks for reply. find that gps set to EMTAK WIRELESS on ipaq gps setting, in the ipaq system menu, and then setting the tomtom 5 gps to other cable nmea gps option baud rate 4800 , gets upto 6 sats in the car, dash mounted while parked. will give it a short run and let you know how it goes! cheers mate kammyx! |

gave it a run around local area in glasgow, for about twenty minutes. stayed locked on to gps, but it would vary between two sats and and four on average? do you think thats ok or a bit low! comments welcome! p.s. i left the tomtom 3 gps option on the ipaq to get more choice of gps systems to test it with as tom tom 5 is less optional in choice and does not name makers and models of gps as much! cheers kammyx! |

hi mate! sunny intervals, car, old range rover classic, position of gps pocket co-pilot sleeve, inboard of dash, ie in line with steering wheel next to centre air vents. not stuck up on screen, not placed on top of dash, just hung it on the little adaptor that comes with gps sleeve, thats the keyhole type, so that antanna was just proud of the dash, and yes three reds on average. p.s. i screwed the air vent adapter on to the front of my dash, as the adapter does not fit my air vents, thats how i got it good for vision and reception. cheers kammyx! |
