Navman 510 POIs

I am having difficulty installing the Safety Camera Database POIs in my navman iCN510.
I downloaded the database, extracted the files but when I open them to edit out the first line they open in Excel, cannot open in notepad as per the instructions-just get a mass of numbers and heiroglyphics. If I save and try to use the edited Excel file the Smart ST doesn't recognise it.

If you are using Win XP, navigate to the file you want in Windows Explorer, high light the file and then right-click the mouse. You should get a pop-up menu, one of the options should be "Open with....". Select this and then select Notepad. The files you've already opened should be discarded and re-extracted from the zipfile, as opening them in Excel often corrupts them.
