I have just purchased the TT500 and a new bluetooth enabled Sony Ericsson V600i mobile phone. These two items are not compatible and you cannot get audio on the hands free. I spoke to tomtom (which took 4 days to get through) and was told about the incompatability, the told me that there are only 4 phones that give the full range of features and about 20 that give some of the features. This is not Make of phone but model !!!!
Tomtom disguise this information but shout loudly about "hands free"
I am returning my tomtom as i have 14 days to do so, the tomtom does not accurately describe that it will work on very few phones. It makes a claim that it works with most phones which is a lie. Crying or Very sad

It's a failing of the phone because only a few can support multiple Bluetooth connections. As one is automatically used up by the GPS then this is an issue and I agree that TomTom ought to make this clearer.

To be fair though, they launched with MS Smartphones which do support this, it's only the Symbian handsets that have a problem.

I was quite interested in this query as I have a problem with pairing up a TT300 and Sony Ericsson K700i. This phone is on the TT list as being compatible but I have not been able to do so. My son also tries to pair his phone, which is also on the TT list as being compatible and his phone would not pair either. I have been to the Vodafone store, I spent over an hour on the phone to TomTom and I have contacted Sony but have, as yet, not received a satisfactory response. Sadly this has taken so long (over five weeks) that I am unable to exchange my Tom Tom. I feel quite aggrieved that I have purchased an item that does not function as promised.

The pairing is normally the simplest part of the procedure. Can the GO 'see' the K700 at all? If you browse for a BT device from the K700 can it see the GO?

I ask because whilst unlikely it is possible that the BT radio on the 300 is defective.

Further to this I can get to the point where the phone is recognised, and then when giving the option of setting up a wireless connection it seems to fall down.I enter the pass number on the phone and then it looks as though it is connecting, before disconnecting straight away. Crying or Very sad
Any further advice??
Thanks

Have you configured the handset to 'accept' bluetooth connections from other devices?

Phone is fine from what i can see. It recognises the tom tom. Because we have tried to get the wireless internet connections to work with 3 different phones now is it possible that there is something wrong with the tomtom unit itself?
