Hi,
I know Tom Tom is for street to street guidance, but I was wondering for arguments sake, say if you were camping in a great big field or even in deep jungle could you use a bluetooth receiver and your pda, knowing your longtitude and latitude could you save your position as a way point and if you go on a decent bit of adventuring no matter where could you get back to that original position?.
I suppose what I am saying can it be used like a garmin gps receiver or not?
Any replies most gratefully received. :D |

Tomtom doesn't have that facility. You could check out VitoNavigator or something similar.

With TT5 and in Browse Map you can use the blue arrow at the top of the screen to set the map to your current position. Then you can Add as POI.
I don't know if this facility is in previous versions. _________________ Richard

Yes, certainly in TT3 you can. Not sure about TT5 as I dare not install it.
I once parked in a field during the Farnborough Air Show. Marking where I had parked as a POI helped me locate the car on my return. |
