Just bought a navman ICN510 and very pleased - had a PDA and TomTOm setup before, so this is slightly new to me.

A few quick questions:

1. Is there a Night Mode like on TomTom to make the screen less imposing at night?

2. Wheres the Topographic hill type view thing or was that on another GPS (I looked at lots of reviews - might have been another model!)

3. Can you lock the zoom to "thicken up" the roads in 2d view? They seem a little weedy and distant compared to Tom Tom....

Ta!

Ade.

1. Yes. Tap Settings > Map > Display > Night. Save.

2. Tap Settings > Map > Display then 'More' with is the thing in the bottom right hand corner which look like a few shhets of paper. Put a tick in the 'Topographic display' box. Save.

3. Tap Settings > Map > Display and take the tick out of the Autozoom box. Save. You can then use the + and - keys to zoom in and out, I believe.

Thanks Tim,

Guess what, I actually read the f manual after I posted this and found all those answer myself.

I have been pampered by the TomTom's "2 clicks" to get to those settings, but just need to get used to a new system.

I am very impressed so far!

Ade..

The night mode is pretty useless, simply dims the display which you can do manually with the + and - buttons on the front. If you select High Contrast on the display type, then night mode seems to be more effective.
