I got an iPAQ rz1710 running PPC 2003 pro,and it had TTN pre-installed on a SD card. That has been running faultlessly since i've had it.
I recntly thought i'd like to try TTN5,so i bought a 512 SD card to install it on.
All installed ok,until i tried it out on the road 8O ......
All the spoken directions work perfectly, but the map scrolling has gone all pete tong!It has slowed down to a snails pace, and jerks along horribly.I turn a corner,or cross a roundabout and it takes a few seconds to catch up with me!
Go back to your other version i hear you say...........well,now that does the same!
What has gone wrong with it,and can i get it to run smoothly like before?I don't care what version i use,i just need it to scroll properly.
Here is what folders i have on the device regarding TomTom........
My Documents/TomTom
My Device/TomTom
Program Files/Navigator
SD Card/Great_Britain_Plus-Map
TomTom Navigator
TomTom Voice Jane
I did select to install it to the SD Card, but it seems to be all over the place........
Thanks for any help you can give.

move the Navigator folder from Program files to SD card, and then adjust your shortcuts. The 1710 has an extremely small RAM so you HAVE TO install EVERYTHING to storage card . ALWAYS. :D _________________ Lutz

Erm......sorry to sound dumb,but....how do you adjust shortcuts on a PDA?
If it was my PC,i'd be ok.
Copied it over like you said, and i went to the folder with the .exe in,clicked it and Tom-Tom started, but said it couldn't find any maps,so it just shut down again.
Is there a way to make sure it ALL gets installed onto the SD card?If so,maybe i could re-install it?
Thanks for any help...... |
