Bad satellite day

Hi All

Now this may just be me (hope not), but do you get days when your system takes ages to lock on, yesterday it took both of my systems about 7-8 minutes to get a lock, normally it only takes a couple of minutes from a cold start, have never really timed it, but you know when its not working as expected when it takes so long and you have not changed anything on your system.

I know we all have bad something days, but it would seem that satellites have bad space days !

And yes this was in the open, with only partial cloud coverage.

Yes, things like these can happen. Just imagine you have five sats but they are all in a row over you. No chance to get any fix. Sats need to be as far apart as possible from each other to give you any chance of a 2D or 3D fix.

We all have them hehe
Don't worry about it ^.^ I tested mine in my driving instructors car and it locked within 20 seconds but then next day took 5 mins so we did a lil test cause the PiN 570 shows the bar stregth and locks then it tells us whats wrong

Day 1 - 8 locks full green meter
Day 2 - 6 locks 2 yellow meter parts on

So it shows that its all good just ones more effective but they fix as the sats move
