Bear with me - this is driving me crazy.
Have "upgraded" from 3 to 5, (XDA2 with the little silver TomTom BT GPS receiver). Everything is great with TT3 and this setup.
I've been around the houses to get TT5 to recognise the BT but it just "No GPS device!"s all the time.
Even tried a few hard resets, the "other bluetooth device" and the "wired GPS device" routes. My device shows up the BT connection at BT on COM6. Or rather it should.
REALLY annoyingly, I installed GPS3.07 and that works just great - locked 8 satellites with fixed location and speed and "3D". Naturally, TT3 is fine with this and works fine.
I'm hoping the collected wisdom here can help me - PLEASE!! 8O |

Your little silver receiver is set to SIRF mode. Change it to NMEA mode and all will be good. _________________ Lutz

try changing it in the GPS applet of TTN3. Otherwise you need a Bluetooth PC and SiRFDemo _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz,
Can't see it in the GPS applet, I'll get my laptop with BT and try with your suggestion, but that'll be tomorrow now as it's midnight here and I want to throw the whole lot out of the window . Better get some sleep!
Thanks,
Lee |

you can also try to use WinFast Navigator on the Pocket PC. I forgot about that option. _________________ Lutz

Hi
OK, couldn't rest so have got out laptop and installed SiRFDemo - when connected it's showing (from action - open data source) lots of nice NMEA data in the debug view - $GPGAA.... etc.
The option to select NMEA is grayed out, I can click switch to SiRF but it does nothing - the format remains NMEA in the debug view.
Noticed that if I bond the BT to the XDA2 then run TT that it will lose the bond in bluetooth settings (just left with one entry - New...). TT also comes up with a red screen saying the device must reset to complete the configuration - but of course the device isn't in the bluetooth manger anymore.
I'm going to flash the ROM in the XDA2 to the latest version, see if that helps (currently 1.66 going up to 1.7x)

Well, the upgrading the ROM worked, the version I had installed must have had some sort of problem. Oh well, at least it works now.
Thanks again Lutz, appreciate your efforts.
