PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help.. (im desperate if you cant tell)

I have a Haicom 204E gps unit and unfortunately, the cable was pulled out of the Gps receiver. Luckily, its in one piece so to speak... I know that you have to put ...

TX in Pin1, RX in Pin2, Vcc in Pin3 and Ground GND in Pin4.

What I *NEED* to know is ... what colour wire is the TX, RX, VCC and GND. There is a RED, YELLOW, ORANGE and BROWN wire, but NOBODY on the internet seems to identify which wires are what... so I cant fix my gps...

PLEASE PLEASE help if you know of a website that might detail this (its not in the manual, just the pin config) or if you can help.

MANY MANY MANY thousands of thankyous for any help.

Red is plus, brown is actually black and is ground. The other two are RxD and TxD - try it out, it doesn't do any harm if you got these two wrong trying.

thanks a lot for your reply, i really appreciate somebody getting back to me....

BUT... you said that brown is actually black...? well, it is ACTUALLY brown, not a dark colour... and by "Red is plus" do you mean that the red cable is Vcc?

If somebody knows for sure the answer, please let me know. Thanks

From what Lutz has said you need to connect as follows:-
Pin 3 VCC Red
Pin 4 GDN Brown
Pin 1 TX Yellow or Orange
Pin 2 RX Orange or Yellow

All you can do is try it, if you don't get a fix the first time swap the yellow and Orange around and try again.
