Hi
I work for a milk distribution company which has 25 routes which cover the south of england. We are looking at sat nav system that we can put in the lorries incase new or inexperienced drivers are on the round. Ideally we would be looking at something like the Tomtom GO.
All our routes have multiple drops so we would need a feature to save multiple destinations. Also, as we use large lorries we obviously cannot use roads that have width or height restrictions.
Are there any systems out there that will do this??
Any help would be very much appreciated as I have very limited knowledge of sat nav.
Thanks

Unless you know the itineraries beforehand you will want to look at a tool that can optimize itineraries. Those are either CoPilot or Mapopolis. CoPilot also has a professional version with weight/height limitations, but that runs only on notebooks/desktops _________________ Lutz

lutz cpilot truck is only available in the us currently no software has either height or weight or width restrictions in the uk to me copilot is the one to go for on paper but suffers from poor routing one way you could do it with the go is to use poi as delivery locations and the driver to select each delivery from a poi list for the route he/she is on
alturion has a truck speed settings but having not used the software (hint hint ) cant say what the routing in truck setting is like on a pda _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .
Oh the joys of being a courier.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looking on the tomtom website, the is an upgrade for tomtom go. It has.. "New ‘Itinerary Planning' for longer journeys with more than one stop: plan your trip defining multiple waypoints and destinations". Does anyone know anymore about this? |
