|
|
I've got TTN 5 on my IPAQ 1940 and its all fine until I want to navigate to anywhere. I type the first letter of a city and it just sits there for ages, If I type the next letter quickly it overwrites the 1st letter. Also there is no egg timer like in TTN 3 so I dont know if its actually doing anything.
How long does it normally take for ttn 5 to find a city? it took 48seconds to find York after it took about 20 seconds to type it in.
Is this simply because my PDA is slow and old (I expect it is) or do other people have the same problem?
Maybe people would like to post how long it takes for it to bring up York from the list?
any comments/help much appreciated

Instantly, I'm afraid! That's on a Treo 650. Time for a change I think......

Have you tried looking at the thread regarding known bugs for ttn5?
I'm sure there's one in there that mentions some users who have experienced ttn5 using 100% processor cycles for no apparent reason. maybe you're one? |

Thanks for the comments guys, looks like its the IPAQ at fault, which to be honest is what I've thought all along (266 processor I think) I'll have a look at the bug list thingy if I can find it. |

I am using a 1940 temporarily (until my 2210 is repaired) and the speed of looking up a city is almost instantaneous. |

Ok thats slightly worrying, I've installed TTN5 onto the IPAQ (standard location) after doing a hard reset so there was nothing on it and the Plus Maps are on my SD Card.
Has anyone done anything different and thats why there's run faster? I dont have any other programmes running either whilst I'm using TTN5.
Cheers
