Having some real problems with getting this working properly. Got all the software installed succesfully and made an initial GPRS connection to TomTom plus and then every time it tries to connect it says "Cannot connect to TomTom Traffic, please check your internet settings". The only way to get it to connect again is to do a soft reset on the T3 but even then it only connects the first time and then the same message comes up when you subsequently try and connect. Only way to connect and get an update is to do a 'Soft Reset' every time which is a pain.
Anyone seen this before or got any ideas ? |

Are you using the T3 with the Bluetooth GPS unit? If so, the T3 is only capable of a single Bluetooth connection, therefore when you are running Navigator 5, it is loooking for the BT GPS unit and hence can't access your mobile, and you get the error message.
I have the same problem - see separate posts under 'TomTom Plus & BT' in this forum.
The helpful people at Tomtom advise that the only solution is to buy a wired GPS unit.
You can make the Plus service work by setting your GPS unit to 'Wired GPS' in Change Prefs/Show GPS Status/Configure/Tomtom Cable GPS. The problem then, is that you can't use Navigator 5 at the same time. You can at least use your months free trial and downloads.
My gripe with this is that their website states full compatibility with the T3 Bluetooth, and there obviously isn't.
Hope this is of some help. |

Can't help then, then I'd be interested to see how you get on, as I was considering buying the wired GPS so that it would work with my T3 and TT Plus. Perhaps I'll hang on..........
Grateful if you could advise if you get any luck.

OK, got it working better now. Still get drop out's if I leave it too long before getting a traffic update. It is a bit tempremental as seems to assume that you always have a GPRS connection whereas most providers let this drop after a fixed time if not used.
So instead of having to do a soft reset if you use Webpro (for example) to re-establish the connection then Tomtom is back and working again.
Cheers
