Hiya chaps,

I've used the above BT GPS receiver very successfully with TTN3, but having upgraded to TTN5 (foolishly!) on my Dell x50v PDA, I can't for the life of me get the thing to be recognised.

I've attempted the 'cable GPS trick', selecting 38400 as the baud rate (also tried all the other settings) and COM7 as the com port - no luck. I've also tried with COM8 (as I'm a newbie to all this stuff and didn't know if it needed the incoming or outgoing com port setting), again with no luck.

The PDA and GPS are paired OK and the receiver is showing a solid blue LED for bluetooth and a solid green LED for GPS status. I left it for +30mins in this state with a clear view of the sky last night, so I would assume it had time to 'lock on' (or whatever the right phrase is!).

During my frustrating attempts to set this up, sometimes when I selected the com port during TTN5 GPS config, a bluetooth manager screen came up and had 'Rikaline' with a tick next to it. If I clicked this, a pause but nothing else - tap screen again and I get back into TomTom but still saying 'no GPS device'. Grrr...

If anyone could offer some advice I'd be extremely grateful - I'm starting to regret upgrading to this latest version without looking for reviews first. Those European maps just looked good value! Sad

Many thanks in advance,

GS

- make sure your receiver is set to NMEA and not SiRF (test that in TTN3 first)
- make sure you don't have a bad TT GPS 3 driver installed, they are known for blocking the BT port. (Best to completely de-install after you switched to NMEA)
- use the Outgoing port only
- try both "other BT" and "other Cable"
