Dear Lutz, Mike, Oldie, Oldboy, Ray Flanagan, Scaredy Cat, Sgould and others.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, experience and, sometimes hidden, darker sense of humour. You truly are good eggs.
I cannot believe the number of 'bone' posts and questions from users who are obviously lazy (please tell me how to load the speed cameras, etc), stupid (I'm surprised these people are allowed out of the house never mind rely on a GPS tool) or have no idea about the real world (why do I have buy maps and upgrades - that's how Tom Tom make money to survive, stupid).
Not every question or thread is unwarranted, I have learnt much from some considered questions and responses. Some people obviously have tried to find the answer for themselves or share their experiences with others but the majority of questions on this forum is from lazy, stupid or lazy and stupid people. Why do they think you post stickies at the top of the forum?
The TTG is a great value product that does what it says and more. It will never be all things to all people - if it was Tom Tom would charge far more for it. As for those that have bought the Tom tom and regretted it well, a few moments research would have saved you your money and frustration.
I know I have set myset up for a slagging and I may deserve it. For the moderators and frequent contributors, thank you for helping me to make full use of my Tom Tom. It ain't perfect but it's perfect for me.
Keep up the good work, I appreciate what you do and find it very, very helpful.
I'd agree with practically every word on that, esspecially the one about product reseasrch.
I've seen plenty of cases at work where a buyer has come up to me, or a another sales person and asked for a GPS.
Call me a blood-sucking, commission hungray salesman, but that gives me a license to sell what I want whatever the cost.
While I try to get the right product, of course I'm going to try to sell you up and get twice as much out of you, because you've not done your homework - and I know everything right? I work with these every day?
Do your homework, find whats right for you before you step into the shop, you'll make it a lot easier for yourself - and save a packet
