I have created that folder named "tomtom" to allow me to enter full postcodes, but when I try to enter a number using my XDA 2s keyboard, it just comes up as an 'n' with an accent over it.

Is there not an on-screen keyboard, or is it just not with the XDA 2s due to it having a keyboard itself.

How am I supposed to sort this out?

Cheers guys

i don't really use the built in keyboard so i'm not sure the how to fix that but search my posts on the virtual keyboard. i found a way to get the virtual keyboard back that works for tomtom 2004 usa and worked for some tomtom 5 users. good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried looking but can't find anything as I'm new to this forum. Can you just give me a brief outline of what you have to do though, because I can only enter the first 2 letters of a postcode at the moment Sad

this link has the fix. /forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=168
you need a registry editor to make a minor change.

Try the following solution:
Edit the register with a third part program and in register of PDA..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell

Change..
HasKeyboard value from 1 to 0
or if U haven't that one U have to add
"HasKeyboard" with value "0".

It works!
Bye.

http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/ for the registry editor.

TomTom are aware of this problem with the XDA, M2000 etc and are rumoured to be making a fix available soon. It must be simple as house number entry comes up with a soft keyboard onscreen. Pressing the fn key (bottom row left) allows me to enter a full postcode, but it is inconvenient to remove the PDA from its cradle to do this.
