|
|
I have TT5 which came only on an SD Card - to start with I assume I should back this up on my PC since there is no CD and I have already killed an SD Card?
Moreover - how do I get it to install to the Ipaq File Store or the SD Card itself rather than putting the application in the main memory which it does as soon as I insert the card?
Also what folders/files can I remove as I will copy the original card onto another slightly larger card but would like to remove anything surplus.
And finally - when it installs it has various parts over and above the basic TT Nav itself - any of these not required or can be removed without problem? Have been experimenting taking of the Today plug in and bluetooth wizard and still seems to work ok but then again it freezes after a while what with it being a 4700

you need only the TTN component (you can safely ignore the other CABs unless you are fond of fruitless contacts navigation).
You can either simply copy the folder to the iPAQ file store or use CABInstl to define the installation folder.
In order to prevent the SD card from reinstalling eveything into RAM rename the 2577 folder to something else. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for that
Moving the folder never worked but have used Cabinstl which seems to have worked but now cant find any Maps :o(
No - change that - everything has to be in the route folder of the SD Card! Ahwell - guess it wont be too tidy in there anymore |

Guess Voices and TomTom folder along with GREATBritiain all have to be in the route...
What about Raster, Schemes & the Start thing (not sure what file type)
mm also think its really slow to start now - tho does save 1-2mb of main mem space which I can allocate to running progs,. |

voices can be in the application folder (on the IFS) or in a \voices folder on the storage card. The map folder hast to be in the root of the storage card. a \tomtom folder has to be in the root of the device for the custom menu, and in the root of the storage card for the postcodes.
Did you just say "messy"? _________________ Lutz

ah, yes, that's the Itinerary stuff.
Thankfully most of the folders are very small and don't eat much RAM. _________________ Lutz
