No points of interest on the Italy map for TTN5 , Why ???

I have checked the map for italy and there are no poi , any ideas why ?

If you are not finding any POI in any category you may have the wrong, missing or corrupt poi.dat file.

How do you know there are no POI?

I have checked when I am running the Italy map. I also have the France map on there and that has all the POI , but the Italy map has none , please help. Thanks for replying roger

I have examined the Italy CD for TTN5 and there does not appear to be anything in relation to poi data. I have not checked Italy plus yet , all very strange , Is there anyone from Tom Tom who can just confirm whether there is poi for Italy or not.

Thanks for everyones replies so far , ps does anyone know anywhere else that I can get poi from , I know this website has some and also tomtom , are there any others. The ones i have seen so far seem to be about five years old

There are plenty of built in POI's on both the standard and plus maps of Italy. I have loaded this map onto the SD card and checked.

Do you mean No Custom POI's??????

I mean the POIs that are built into the maps. There appear to be none. I have also loaded UK and France and there are in built POI for both of these. There are none for the Italy map when I have put them from the CD onto my storage card. Is your Italy map the one provided by TTN5 or one of the maps that were provided seprately at extra cost.

The bottom line is that it appears there are no built in POI on the Italy map but there is for the other countries , help still

Received TT5 very late, so after the 3 hours of installation I had to get going on my vaccation

I have just been in Italy and when opening the Ialian map it doesn't show any POI whatsoever

I installed the standard Italian maps, not the PLUS version
and in the folder it shows a POI file being just 8 bytes

Since I'm still on vaccation I can not confirm if loading the PLUS version
has a bigger POI file

Can't remember seeing any errors when installaing the standard maps

There appears to be a problem with the standard Italia-Map poi.dat file.

I just tried installing this from CD5 to a folder on the PC and the file is only 8 bytes.

The Italia_Plus-Map poi.dat file installs Ok - 7.32 MB (7,680,939 bytes).

Solution seems to be to install the Plus map. Have you any facilities to do that where you are?

Just to confirm there is definitely a problem with the Standard Italia-Map poi.dat file.

I have opened the Italia.cab file on CD5 and extracted the poi.dat file. It is in fact only 8 bytes yet the cab file itself verifies Ok.

So another error by TomTom yet again.

I thought i was going mad , but there does not seem to be poi on italy map , not to worry , i seem to have resolved it from a good friend who had it anyway
