Go 700

Hi all,

As per the previous poster, Tomil, I downloaded the camera database and copied the files to my GO700. So far, so good. All the necessary ov and bmp files showed up as being copied.

However, when I now switch the GO700 on it says ......."loading route" (or something similar) and then stops at 50% (loaded) and hangs. Nothing more - zilch - can't do anything with it. Connect it to my computer again and remove the files and it works OK again.

I've tried loading just a couple of the files instead in case of a corrupted file but still won't load ..... gets to 50% and hangs again.

Any ideas?

On a second point ....... if I do manage to get these loaded is the databse for France comprehensive?

I have the pocket gps continental cameras loaded in the France folder and also the ones from here:http://www.alertegps.com/Download.asp?a=ar&s=&f=tomtom

I drove down to Geneva from Boulogne with a lot of diversions and it seemed to pick them all up. Well, I didn't notice any that I didn't get a warning for and never saw a flash or got a ticket sent to me.

Don't forget to update them frequently!! Pocket GPS ones are upgraded at the beginning of each month. Not sure about the French site.

Do the poi's from alertgps.com duplicate the continental cameras from pocketgpsworld and should I therefore remove the gpsworld continental poi's before loading the alertgps poi?

I use both to be on the safe side. It won't hurt. All that will happen is that you might get a double warning if both databases have the same camera.
