Hi
I have a Mio 168, have ordered TTN5 upgrade, but - like many others - - am still waiting.
I ordered on 6th June, so only just over a week so far.

Hi Solo,
I now have TTN5 upgrade, installed it this evening, went well, thanks to various posts on the forum which enabled me to get the speed cameras and associated voices loaded, and also a customised menu.
Seems to work just fine on the Mio 168, although only tried it on my desk. Good satellite lock through the window!
Hope to try it on the road tomorrow. :D
A keen to see if the landscape view works OK, have seen another post which suggested that the aerial could still pick up satellites OK in this position. _________________ Leigh

Ordered the full version, stilll waiting for it to come in stock. So downloaded a copy while waiting (I am just testing it) loaded on my mio 168 with no problems, found the sats very quick, It looks very good and easy to use, big improvement, only problem is the maps still seem old and out of date. |

Hi eme,
I have been using TTN5 on my Mio for a little while now. No long journeys yet though.
Using it in landscape mode with the aerial extended to 90degrees, I have had excellent satellite lock, and no dropouts.
This is in an old Volvo 240 (no fancy w'screen here) I have not yet tried it in the Peugeot 306, I have found that the performance was less good in the Peugeot with TTN3 so the screen may be reflective.
I have certainly found that it picks up satellites very much quicker than TTN3 which seems at variance with a lot of posts on this forum.
Here in my study I have a good 6 satellite lock with the Mio on my desk 3 feet from the window. With TTN3 that did not happen. _________________ Leigh

Hi,
My mate’s mio 168 works on navman, com2, speed 4800, perfectly.
However, on tomtom5, I have only got it to work only once.
It can only lock on to two satellites.
What settings have you guys been using?
Thanks |

Hi Beach_bum,
Go to menu item "Show GPS status", click "Configure" next screen is "Specify your GPS hardware", select "Other Cable NMEA GPS" then GPS baud rate 4800
then under "GPS is connected to", select "Serial Cable on SP2"
This is what works on my Mio.
I could not get any other settings to work at all.
Hope this helps _________________ Leigh
