Well I have done it, i have just bought a Yakumo Alpha here in France and so far am very pleased with it. however although I am ok with the French language I would like to change it to English if that is possible. As the price was only 299 euroes I got only French maps and all the instructions are in French. What I would like to know is can I get maps and an operating system that is in English and install it on the Yakumo Alpha.
Also I would like to hear from anybody who has the same to hear their comments on this Gps.

You need an English ROM file to change it to English. Im not sure how forth coming Yakumo are about these things. I see their website has ROM files for the Yakumo Delta but none for the Aplha.

The Yakumo Alpha is essentially a clone of the Acer n35 (or is it the other way around Rolling Eyes ). Anyway you could possibly get an English ROM from Acer and try and update with that. I dont think anyone else has tried this yet so Im not sure how risky this would be.

Someone asked about changing a Spanish n35 to English a few days back and I posted a link to the ROM on that thread, if youre keen to give a try then have a search for the thread.

However do this at you own risk as updating ROM's can leave you with a usless brick if done incorrectly.

Regards
Trevor
