Hi,

Would really appreciate some help with regards to problems i'm experincing with a Medion 95900 bought from Aldi last weekend.

Whilst i'm happy with the build quality of this PNA/GPS and clear voice prompts for navigation etc.. i'm concerned with the fact that the GPS reception on it is very erratic, often the the amount of Satellites being picked up goes down to zero and stays there :-(, other times the amount of Satellites seems to vary from anything from 3 to 7 (the amount of Satellites being picked up seems to change from anything between 3 to 7 and vice versa and often back down to zero again even whilst standing still :-( ).

Is it possible that the Medion 95900 that i've bought has got an intermittent fault, perhaps with the antenna connection to the mainboard?.

One other thing that concerns me is Medions complete lack of customer service by e-mail, why they print their hotline e-mail address on their literature i'm afraid I do not know as the only response i've had from Medion is ring us on our 0870 number (even though i've advised in great detail what problems i'm experiencing and have asked them whether or not i've bought a d.o.a. unit), the response from them is very impersonal, basically the same as an automated response, regardless of the fact that i've told them that I do not like ringing 0870 numbers.

Well made product with a complete lack of support from the manufacturers, that's all I can conclude right now :-(.

Am considering returning to Aldi for a full refund, I understand that they are very fair where it comes to returning faulty goods. Hope I do not get hassle :-(.

Would like to exchange for another Medion 95900 but no doubt they're all gone now :-(.

One other thing i'd like to ask, can anyone advise or suggest which they'd consider to be a better buy in terms of value for money and features between an Acer n35 and a Medion 95900?.

I like the idea of the Acer n35 being a Pocket PC as well as a GPS but having used an Acer n35 i've not found the GPS Software to be as detailed as the GPS Software running on the Medion 95900.

I'm generally a fan of Medion products however feel let down with their complete lack of support with this particular product :-(.

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :-).
