No, absolutely nothing. The IoM is completely blank.

Can't say for sure - but the Classic certainly doesn't! I have just looked at both the GB and MRE maps on mine - and on both, the I of M is just a green shape with not a road or town in sight. I fully expect the new Country and Plus maps to be the same in this respect.

Having said that, maybe you don't really need TTG for navigating on the island. You'd know automatically if you were more than a couple of miles off course - 'cos you'd be in the sea! Laughing

That's interesting!

The Plus map - for those unfamiliar with it - is a detailed street level map of GB and the Major Roads of Europe - all integrated into a single map.

The I of M was not on the previous version of either the GB map or MRE - so I assumed that it would not be on the Plus map.

Occasionally, one is pleased to be wrong!

The Map that you can download with PLUS, can u naviagte using it?

I know that sounds like a dumb question but I have not used PLUS and I thought perhaps it was a static map that was only to VIEW rather than the "Navigator" using it to "Navigate" to a particular point on that PLUS map.

Weird how they have a more up to date/comprehensive UK map with PLUS than they do actually on the standard software 8O

Ah - I think I can see the confusion!

There is a difference between TomTom Plus and Plus Maps.

AIUI, TomTom Plus is a facility to enable you to download detailed city maps etc., using a Bluetooth-enabled TTG connected to a mobie phone. [I have no first-hand experience of this, so may not have it exactly right]

Whereas the Plus Maps are the new version of the country maps - which have to be bought on SD card or CD rather than being downloadable - where each one contains full detail for one country plus MRE. You can certainly navigate with these - from a major road anywhere in Europe to a street address in the country whose Plus map you are using.

You will be able to navigate within the I on M using the GB Plus map - and probably from the mainland to the I of M using a ferry.

Ah that's interesting so do you think that by the time the TTGO 500 and 700 are out that they will have these new and more up to date "PLUS" maps?

How did you get them?

Cost?

I haven't personally got any, unfortunately, but I have read a fair bit about them.

When the version 5 software came out - corresponding with the announcement of the new 300/500/700 models - owners of TTG Classic were given an opportunity (for a fee) to upgrade their maps to the new Plus variety - which quite a lot of people have done.

My understanding - correct me if I'm wrong, someone - of the maps supplied with the new models is as follows:
300 comes with a single country (not plus) map on an SD card
500 comes with a single country Plus map on an SD card
700 (which has a built-in disk drive) comes with a single very large map which has street level detail of all Western European countries - and a few of Eastern Europe for good measure - enabling door to door navigation across country borders.

In theory, additional single country plus maps on SD card and the complete Europe set on 6 CDs, are available to buy - but TT has been rather slow to release them. Check the TT site for availability.
