Hello all this is my first post
Serious software problem, has anyone else had this?
While following a route and approaching a roundabout to turn "right at the third exit" the blue gps position triangle loses position and often tries to go to the second exit. The unit then assumes that I have taken the wrong exit and recalculates the route giving me several un necessary instructions trying to get me back on my correct route.
luckly for me this has happened on test routs that I Know while I have been testing the software ( I have upgraded from TT3.07)
THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON THAT VERSION TT3.07 If I was using the software for real it would be very annoying.
Although I am not an experienced user I feel that TT5 is not worth the 58 Euros that I paid for the upgrade and it seems that more and more people are of that opinion.
Thanks Chris

As a user of TT4 that upgraded, so am used to how this is meant to work, I have noticed that TT5 (a development of 4) is very slow at updating position, especially at complex junctions like roundabouts. I have writen to TomTom about when they will fix this as it was not a problem in TT4, but have yet to have any reply.
I have not been able to test this but it appears to be a problem linked to custom POIs being visible. |

Thats an interesting point julianbarker
This was also my opinion my gut feeling is that the program is spending more time drawing and rotating the map instead of keeping track of my position. I have also written to Tomtom and await reply. I will post the answer when recieved.

I have contacted TomTom about the various issues that have come up with TTN5 and all they ever say is thank you for the feedback we will look into it. (Or words to that effect)
I have now stuck with TTN3 that works fine but I now have a £200 doorstop because I cannot get a refund on it.
It seems to me that they have got our money so why bother fixing these problems in a hurry. :x |
