Hi All

I've got a b2 solo. Because the aerial is detachable from the unit does that mean it might be possible to put an extension cable between the aerial and b2 solo unit for better reception?? any idea what cable I need.

Secondly should there be any reason why the my origin is not picking up the new cameras on the M42, between junction 3 and 4, I'm not sure what type of cameras they are possibly the same as the ones on the M25, come to think of it also a couple of motorway cameras on the M6 between junction 5 and 2?? very unusual. Then again since I've only just bought the unit I haven't really done a proper motorway drive so Not sure if it's motorway issue in general!!

Thirdly why does it take so long to pick up satellites from a cold start depending on location it can take up to 3 or 4 minutes, and is it more difficult to pick up satellites when on the move.

Comments much appreciated and many thanks in advance

Regards

Jag

Not sure about an extension cable, but you can certainly replace the antenna with a cable + aerial. Which you can get from multiple places including the Origin website.

I believe that the cameras are not operational on the M42 yet - they are not necessarily speed cameras. The camera are currently being installed as a trial - in using the hard shoulder as a fourth lane in rush hour periods. Hense the cameras every few meters, and every slip road on and off the motorway.

There were numerous temporary cameras around that area, which Origin alerted me off, and everytime they were moved - Origin new accordingly.

You will get the satellite fixes quicker, if you are not moving - when moving its harder to receive a satellite fix.

Hope the above is of some help to you.

Simon

I was in the same position as yourself. I had the solo because i thought it would be neater in the car - WRONG - save yourself any hassle and get the normal cradle with the sat receiver on the cable. works brill and the neatest setup going.

good luck

ps. reason i changed from solo to original was that sat aquisition was crap with the solo
