|
Can anyone help me please. I bought Tom Tom Navigator 3 last year for my HP Ipaq and it's working fine except when I decided to use the M6 toll road recently, I realised it's not on my version of the GB Map. I have looked for an upgrade on the tom tom web site but unless I upgrade to TTN 5, which I will have to pay for, I can't see anywhere to upgrade maps after the initial installation. I feel a bit twitchy when TTN keeps telling me to take the next turning because it thinks I'm in the middle of a field so I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks
Lynn :o |

Tomtom do not supply (free or subscription) updates for maps. You have to wait for a new version of Tomtom and upgrade to it.
Some of us have acquired the version 4.4 maps from the HP bundle and that works with version 3, and has the M6 toll on it.

Thanks Loobster, it looks like I'll have to upgrade at some stage but can't be bothered with all the problems of setting it up again. I would have thought there'd be a free upgrade/patch to include such a major road.
Cheers

The problem is that Tomtom do not own the map data, they obtain it from TeleAtlas (I think) who will of course not give free updates to Tomtom or anyone else.

Where do you "aquire" the 4.4 maps. I have looked into upgrading to 5 but my PDA Toshiba is not yet supported. The lack of M6 toll has p****d me off for some time. |
