Why won't tt3 see my gps receiver?

I had an unrequested hard boot on my ppc (Spv m1000) a couple of weeks ago. I reinstalled TT and all worked.

I then had another a week later but this time it doesn't work. I set the ppc to find the gps and it seems to find something but doesn't recognise it as tom tom. Instead it puts a funny code in - a mixture of numbers and lower case letters, about 10 characters long.

When I put in my code 0000 it does not accept this.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you referring to your activation code for the software?

No, not my software activation code but the PIN code for when Bluetooth sets up devices. 0000 is the code but it isn't accepted.
