Time to ship for TT5Mobile full kit

Has anybody ordered the full kit (not the upgrade) for TT5Mobile from the TomTom website? Have you received it yet and how long did it take?

Mine has been on order a week and the status still shows as warehouse? I feel a bit angry about paying E9.95 for shipping only to have the order delayed by what I guess is a lack of stock of the GPS module.

What is even more frustrating is that I have a Fortuna Clip On that I use with my current CoPilot installation on the C500. I just wish I could have bought software only. I have been "evaluating" TomTom 3 Mobile due to my frustration with CoPilot knowing that TT5 Mobile was due and that I would go legal then.

There are several of us it seems waiting for it from various sources. On Friday I emailed the UK supplier I've pre-ordered it from (in May!) and they're awaiting an update from TomTom. At least my shipping is free and they haven't charged it to my credit card yet... Sad

Moonraker, have you received the full TTM5 kit yet or are you still waiting? Does anybody have any idea on delivery times? I think lucky erniew caught the TomTom delivery department on a good day. javascript:emoticon('8O')

I emailed TomTom yesterday to ask when the UK retailers would expect to start getting units.
I had a 'helpful' reply telling me TT 5 was available from the web site and all the UK retailers on the list on the website.
I've replied trying to hint that a) 5 weeks lead time is not 'available' and b) no UK retailer I know of has got any.

Somehow, I'll doubt I'll get a reply.... Laughing

Received my kit on Wednesday. I guess the moaning email I sent to support got things moving or I just hit a quiet time.

Retail kit seems more stable and less prone to phone lock ups than the "cracked" executable that is floating about.

GPS unit is great although I miss the bluetooth indicator that the Fortuna unit has to indicate communication. The TT GPS unit only has power and lock indicators.

Still trying the traffic add in. I need to increase the traffic update frequency or drive on roads that are monitored as it did not warn me of an impending snarl up at Bicester yesterday.

Otherwise great and I do not miss a thing about CoPilot!

Thanks moonraker. so yours was a 10 day turnaround which is similiar to erniew. Will see how long mine takes to arrive (ordered 14th June). I'm not happy to hear about phone lockups though, the reliabilty of Windows Mobile has always been dubious and I wondered how a reasonably complicated product like TTM5 would perform.

To avoid confusion.

I have so far (3 days) had no phone lockups with the genuine fully paid for variant of TTM5. There is a cracked exe out there that I used for a couple of days whilst my fully licensed variant was shipped. I had occurences of that appearing to hang the phone particularly if I had calls come in.

The lesson appears to be you get what you deserve for using dodgy variants.

I'm interested in knowing how long it takes your order to arrive. I've cancelled mine with globalpositioningsystems (no fault of theirs, they were just getting no info from TomTom) and ordered it from TomTom today...

I was in the same situation with Expansys. It has been a week since ordering, so with a bit of luck it'll show later this week. It better, I'm like a kid waiting for xmas.

Just to add to the comments. Ordered the full version for Smartphones on 10th June, it duly arrived on the 22nd.

So I'm not sure why the 5 week minimum wait is being advised.
