Hi! Please could anyone advise whether they have experienced any TTG 300 signal reception problems in recent Nissan X-trail models, specifically whether anyone has found it neccessary to fit an external aerial. I am doing some research before ordering equipment and would very much appreciate words of wisdom from any experienced users! Unfortunately, I have been unable to establish whether the x-trail is fitted with an athermic windscreen. Thanks. |

Hi spot
Just to let you know that I have not experienced any problems in using my TomTom 300 in my X-trail. As far as I am aware it hasn't even got an athermic windscreen. It's also quite easy wired up because of the second 12volt supply in the drivers glovebox above the steering wheel.
From reading these forums it seem that most people have problems with Peugeots / Citreons and Renaults. Although owners of the cars I 'm sure will post their verdicts. |

Is yours the TomTom Go Classic ?
Mine is the TTG300, I have a Renault Scenic and the signal is poor most of the time.
My card was registered Jan 2000. |

Yes I have the classic in my 04 reg Megane CC. Probably good reception in the car because it has either a glass roof or no roof at all depending on the weather.

You will have trouble because you have a heat reflective screen. This means most of the signal has to come in through the side windows.
Try moving the TTG near to the drivers door to see if that gets a better signal. Scenic users seem to have all gone the external aerial path, maybe your only option. _________________ Richard
