Which one to get????

Hello to all. I introduced myself early, but I want to say hello again before rattleing off my question. So far I have learned a lot just from reading, but I think I am ready to ask my questions. Forgive the novice in advance.
I am looking for the following paramters in a unit
1. Handheld and relatively portable;
2. Can display European detail maps (I will be in the UK in November for the first time)
3. Can display topo maps for the states later on
4. Color would be great but I am open

I am so new I don't even know if I am asking ALL the things I should but this is where I will start. If you have recommendations I would love to hear them. I appreciate your help in advance.
