New TomTom Receiver Power Supply

Seeing as even at £200 TomTom cannot provide a mains charger for the bluetooth GPS (which would cost them mere pounds to make) do you know if the original TTN3 BT charger will work OK.
The input is the same (5v DC) but the old BT was 2 amp and the new one is 1 amp.

I am amazed that TomTom would not provide one as part of the package although they provide a car charger.

I use the GPS for Geocaching so I wouldn't necessarily be in the car when I want to use it.

Does this mean I have to go for a drive every time I want to charge it up

The lack of an AC charger has annoyed me too. However, gpsforless.co.uk sell a car charger to AC adapter thingymajig for £10 which will do the job nicely.

I'd post a link to it, but it looks like their site is down at the moment.

(Maplins sell one too, but it's a damn site more expensive)
