Does anyone know of an API or something I can use to capture GPS coordinates in my own PPC application? I can find plenty of other peoples applications, but I need to do this in my own DB app. I don't need navigation, mapping, or any of that other stuff, I just need to capture GPS coordinates whereever I happen to be standing and associate them with my already-existing database.

TIA,
Joel

I don't know how to do this in .Net but I could show you the native code.

I found a .NET solution: looks pretty impressive so far!

http://www.gpsdotnet.com

It even has auto-detection of the GPS device. I've purchased it and gone through the examples, looks pretty straight-forward, so I think this will do the job.

Just out of curiosity, what is "native" code for PocketPC like? Is it C++ or Assembler, or what?

Thanks!

Joel

It's actually plain C with no OO features, just using standard Windows API functions. The next best thing to Assembler in terms of execution speed.
