I have read in many places that Checkpoint and TTN5 will not work together.
However like many others I do not want to pay for a service that at present I get for free.
Does anybody know if it will still be possibe to download the POI files and somehow get TTN5 to read them and overlay onto the maps? |

yes, that part has not changed. If you use an external tool to manipulate the OV2 files then this data will be taken into account by TTN5, too. You have to do all the rest yourself, though (setup the alerts etc) _________________ Lutz

You are saying that the speed camera ov2 files you provide now are not compatible with TT5? How can they be converted, specifically? |

I don't think lbendlin is saying the OV2 files are incompatible with TTN5, they will work as they do with Tom Tom Go at present. _________________ Mio P550 Mio 3 TTN 6 2GB SD Card, Ipaq 5450: Integral 1Gb SD card, TTN 6, POICapture, PPC 2003 |

Don’t worry, the PocketGPSWorld camera database will definitely work with TomTom Navigator 5 for the PocketPC.
What you won’t be able to do is use third party add-ons like CheckPOInt or GPSAssist, etc. TomTom Navigator 5 has a built in proximity alert, which works well.
Hopefully TomTom will release an SDK for Navigator 5, so that third party add-ons can be used in the near future.

Does this mean that it will no longer be possible to switch off voice prompts while maintaining POI alerts? |

not easily. You will have to delete all dataxx.chk files (or move them away) to NOT have voice prompts.. Don't touch data.chk - that's where teh POI alerts are in. _________________ Lutz
