If I buy a new pda can I change it then? Will I be able to install TTN5 on a new pda when I get it in a few months.
Will Tom Tom issue a second code for my new pda or do I really have to buy the software all over again?
I cannot believe that a new purchase of Tom Tom is necessary. What if I lost my pda or it broke? Surely I should be able to put the software I own onto the replacement ??

No, if you want to transfer it from one PDA to another, it is a different situation. You need to provide TomTom with some evidence that the original PDA is defunct (a fax of a repairer's report saying that it is irreparable, for example) and they will then give you a code for the replacement machine.

What if there's nothing wrong with the original and you are just upgrading?
Anyway, you can activate again after 7 days and then on a new device every 6 months. |

The licence activation allows a second installation after 7 days and a third after 180days specifically for eventualities where the hardware has been replaced. Using this facility to install multiple consurrent devices is a breach of the licence agreement. Only one copy may be installed at a time. _________________ Darren Griffin |

So if I buy a PDA bundle from a shop which has a rather low performance PDA, can I give the PDA to my mate but activate the Tom Tom on my own higher performance PDA? |

You could indeed. But why not just buy the software bundle? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Only because it is a similar price so I would get the software and effectively the PDA very cheap............ |
