|
|
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has had any success connecting their TTG 300 via GPRS on the O2 PAYG system.
I get a bluetooth connection on my Samsung D500 with TTG 300 no worries.
I can even connect to internet via GPRS on my phone.
What i can't do is connect via the TTG 300. :x
I am getting the run around from TT saying its O2's problem, O2 are telling me if all works fine without the TTG 300 then Its TT problem.
I have witten a few emails now to TT in the hope of something that actually works.
So i wonder
IS THIS AN O2 PROBLEM
A PAYG PROBLEM (it may work with a contract phone)
A TOMTOM PROBLEM
A TOMTOM GO 300 PROBLEM
A SAMSUNG D500 PROBLEM
Any assistance would be appreciated before a throw the whole darn lot through the window.
Thanks and sorry for the gripe but hopefully someone somewhere may have the answer. _________________ Regards

If you can use your phone to connect a laptop or a PDA to the Internet (not WAP) then it's a problem with your TTG |

I wrote an article for a magazine recently discussing this very point!
The problem is O2's PAYG service. This does not provide full GPRS Internet, instead all you get is GPRS WAP.
To get GPRS Internet you'll need aither an O2 contract account or Orange's PAYG offers full GPRS Internet. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have a similar problem but I'm on an O2 contract. I can use the phone (Nokia 6230) to 'Browse' the internet but when I try and use the TTG300, it connects via Bluetooth, disconnects, connects again, tries to connect via GPRS and then gives the message 'Subscribe to GPRS first'. Upgrading to the 5.1 version of the software has not made any difference. Very frustrating!! |

Hi there
So you have same problems as me but your on contract? mmmmm.
Have you tried going to O2 web site and getting the setting re-sent to you?
I have spoken to both TT, O2 customer services and Tech Support.
All say Full access to GRPS with contract phone but only WAP via GPRS with PAYG. As Mike pointed out.
I even said it mean me changing to ORANGE but they didn't seem bothered.
So i just bought the Orange PAYG Sim Card for £2.99 from their web site and get 3000 txt msgs.
I didn't want to go this route but needs must. As Orange give full GPRS access to PAYG customers.
Typical. Been with O2 with contracts and PAYG for yrs and never needed anything from them.
So here's hoping with the ORANGE network.

Have you spoken to O2? You may not have GPRS Internet enabled, browsing via your phone could well be using GPRS Wap. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I've just tried to ring O2 to check but they can't help me til Monday! I'll let you know how I get on. It's very likely that I asked for the wrong thing the last time I spoke to O2 as having just checked my settings, my phone has O2 WAP GPRS as the Settings name. |

O2 eventually enabled by sim for 'Mobile Internet' and it all works fine now. Thanks for your assistance |

What precisely did you ask O2 to do? It looks like I'm going to have to do the same with my PAYG account. |
